Laura’s Locket
exclusively by tinamarie
Laura’s Locket is named after my mother, the most gentle and nurturing woman I have been privileged to know. Each piece is crafted with a wistful memory of her. My hope is that the jewelry you select will become as special to you as she was to me.

I grew up in Elkhart, Indiana, one of six children to John and Laura McLain. While I was growing up I would put on my mother's knee length wedding dress, which fell to the floor on me, then open my mother's jewelry box and drape her necklaces down the
front of myself. My father called me "little Laura."
My mother's most prized possession, which I was not allowed to play with, was a
golden locket given to her by my father. Inside, delicately placed within the heart, was a small picture of her as a sixteen-year-old girl, and himself, in his Marine Corps uniform. Sadly, this locket, and most of her other jewelry, was lost during a tornado in 1965. But the memory of this locket lives on to this day.
Today, I live in Peoria, Arizona with my husband of 23 years. We have two
grown children, Brec and Hallie along with our little Shitzu, Kato, and Pomchi, Chloe
